This is my tribute to these bunch of friendly fellows who always put up a smile on their face no matter. Their humble yet resilient character has been a rock for the success of climbers in the Himalayas for decades.
Looking back at my journey to the Everest region in Nepal.
Just a little after leaving Namche after a turn, a small blip in the sky, the mountain of mountains finally appeared to us. I was in disbelief for a few minutes until I had to wrap my head around the fact that I had just seen the tallest mountain in the world.
It was acclimatisation day at Namche Bazaar. After a healthy breakfast, we took a slow climb to the Tenzing Norgay Memorial and Museum.
It was day 2 of the EBC (Everest Base Camp) and Three Passes Trek which takes us through a circuit of the Khumbu area and the Sagarmatha National Park in Nepal, right at the foot of the tallest mountains of the world.
